"Being a volunteer for the Cancer Research Society allows me to invest my time in a cause that I care about. I have loved ones suffering from different types of cancer. To date, some are in remission, some are still fighting the disease, and sadly others were not able to pull through. The hours I have given to the Cancer Research Society have allowed me to meet volunteers and people who are smiling, generous and who possess a wealth of experience. At each of these events, funds are collected for cancer research, encouraging us to hope that one day medicine will conquer this dreadful disease. In addition, my involvement allows me to honour the memory of the loved ones that I have lost."
