Donate to the CRS

Bequest

There's no question that a will is the most precious gift that a person can leave to his/her family and friends, or to a charitable organization such as the Cancer Research Society (CRS). A will represents an opportunity to make a substantial donation, since personal wealth is generally greater at a person's death than during his/her lifetime.

Many people believe that, when they pass on, they are not only bequeathing their children and grandchildren money and property, but also a sense of kinship and community, which is why they agree to donate a portion of their estate to their favourite charity.

Governments understand these concerns and have created tax incentives to encourage citizens to financially support the charities of their choice.

The advantages of writing a will:

  • It is an excellent way to pass on your accumulated wealth;
  • It is the only official document that guarantees that your assets will be distributed according to your wishes;
  • It gives you an opportunity to make a donation to a charity such as the Cancer Research Society.

A bequest also entitles you to a tax credit of up to 100 % of your net income in the year of your death.

If you have already named the Cancer Research Society as a beneficiary in your will, we would like to be informed so that we can thank you appropriately.
