As conveyed by its name, Everest base camp is the starting point for all mountaineers who hope to scale the planet's highest mountain. Base camp is located immediately underneath the risky and forbidding Khumbu Icefall, at the tip of the glacier of the same name. Luckily, the journey to base camp does not require crossing any dangerous glaciers with crevasses or cascades. One of the most popular trekking itineraries in the Himalayan range, it is undertaken by thousands of people each year.

What's included

  • Round-trip flight between Montreal and Kathmandu, including connections, with a scheduled airline, and 2 domestic flights.

  • Accommodations for 3 nights in a 3-star Kathmandu hotel, double occupancy, and for 11 nights in a lodge during the trek.

  • Wrap-up dinner in Kathmandu on the final evening.
  • One-day guided visit of Kathmandu.
  • Entry fees for all sites.
  • English-speaking trekking guide and all porters for the trek.
  • Insurance for members of the trekking team (guide and porters).

Fundraising

To take part in this expedition, participants must raise a minimum of $10,000.

Participants and heroes

Each participant pairs up with a cancer hero who will be his source of inspiration. If you would like to participate but don't know a cancer hero, let us know.  We will be happy to introduce you to someone who will inspire you to successfully complete your Challenge.
