As conveyed by its name, Everest base camp is the starting point for all mountaineers who hope to scale the planet's highest mountain. Base camp is located immediately underneath the risky and forbidding Khumbu Icefall, at the tip of the glacier of the same name. Luckily, the journey to base camp does not require crossing any dangerous glaciers with crevasses or cascades. One of the most popular trekking itineraries in the Himalayan range, it is undertaken by thousands of people each year.
