Project title:
The role of Periostin/OSF-2 in ErbB2-driven tumorigenesis

Funding period:
2010-2012

Program:
Operating Grant (Basic Research)

Summary:
Periostin has been shown to stimulate the growth and invasion of many cancers, including breast tumors. We will investigate the role of Periostin in breast cancer using mice that do not express Periostin in a tumor environment. We will then attempt to interfere with Periostin’s function in vivo in order to suppress tumor progression.
