Research Projects

Project title:
Identifying novel biomarkers for renal cell carcinoma through quantitative proteomic analysis: Moving into an era of personalized medicine

Funding period:
2011-2012

Program:
Fellowship Renewal

Summary:
Our objective is to identify "tumor biomarkers" for the detection of kidney cancer. We will also compare protein expression between patients that responded to treatment and patients that did not respond. This will help decide the best treatment option for each patient and have a great impact by avoiding unwanted side effects that may result from treatments that are of no benefit to a particular patient.
