CRS / Marjolaine-Bazinet Lung Cancer Research Grant
The CRS / Marjolaine-Bazinet Lung Cancer Research Grant is funded by the Marjolaine-Bazinet Fund, established in memory of Mrs. Marjolaine Bazinet who died of lung cancer in 2002. This fund was created to promote and fund research on lung cancer.
Personalized funds such as this one are a specific means by which the Cancer Research Society (CRS) supports research activities by independent scientists or small groups of investigators on a defined subject.
In 2011, a first grant financed by the Marjolaine-Bazinet Fund was awarded to Dr. Sarah K. Wootton from the University of Guelph in Ontario for a period of two years and an amount of $60,000 per year.
Since its inception in 2003, the Annual BBQ for the Marjolaine-Bazinet Fund has raised over $60,000, which will be used to fund lung cancer research grants.
