Read for the Cure
Since 2006, Read for the Cure has been organizing literary events in Toronto and Ottawa featuring well respected Random House authors, in an effort to raise funds for the Cancer Research Society’s environment-cancer research fund. Enjoy good books and good company, while helping our researchers find a cure!
Read for the Cure is a non-profit volunteer organization, formed by Canadian, passionate book lovers who wish to raise money for the Cancer Research Society (CRS). Since 2006, the members of this organization coordinate literary evenings featuring renowned Canadian authors, in collaboration with the Random House publishing house, one of the most important partners of this event.
In 2010, three literary evenings took place, on October 6, 20 and November 30. Ian Brown, Catherine Gildener, Linden Macintyre and Margaret Atwood were among the authors present at these events which contributed in raising a record $100,000 which was remitted to the Cancer Research Society.
